our memorial day weekend

I worked the kids camped...  when they came home tony got his new toy!  He's in love and the dog and the chickens liked it too!

uh oh!

What have we been up to well, sadly it hasn't been cooking seems everything is on the fly lately as happens this time of year.
My birthday was good to me, Blinky went to Mutty Paws , with Almost Home Rescue the first week of may,  as was mothers day!

The Day before mothers day we got a puppy from FETCHING HOPE  She's a true southern mutt.  Her brothers and sisters are coming to Maine this weekend!  We drove to Hampton and got her fresh off the truck from Arkansas! 

 I'm not sure if they are excited.    What do you think?

We just got some chicks cause we had a snatching fox, she actualy got our favorite bird Hammy  ;(

 The back yard ( technically it is the front yard)  is coming along nicely, dog some more of the uneven banking out and added Hostas and Phlox.  

 Tony built me a fence to keep my chickens out!!

 and I built me a new raised bed that i now need to fill with dirt!  

 Haylee's watermelon and basil garden is going right where tony is sitting!

 Seedlings after the rain they can't wait to go in the garden tomorrow.  

 Happy pumpkins in the new garden the back of the bed will be pole beans.

 Got the seeds started, need to start some more, but the tomato's are sprouted and some of the flowers.  herbs going in soon, peas going in outside yum yum!

So last week we had the science fair and made bouncy eggs by removing the calcium carbonate in the shells.  Haylee did awesome!

Been making plans for the garden, Tony is going to cute down some trees and has acquired some very large pallets to build a shed/new chicken coop.   The garden fence is in the making, though I'm undecided about painting it or leaving it natural.  I'm sure I'll post pictures.  I  have tons of seeds which i need to get started.  

Planning summer camping trips to http://www.cooscanyoncabins.com/ where we can hike tumbledown and play in the river and maybe hike up to angle falls again and I'd like to find some other falls not far way too maybe on the way home.And another trip to The basin I love that place, but I haven't been back to the emerald pool in years and I want to!

busy busy

Last week today was 80 degrees.  This week it has snowed.  Last week today I received my certification in hospice and palliative care after studying for weeks and weeks okay months cause I put it off.  I'm pretty pleased with my self and excited about the future.  Well I think I've been running ever since.  I worked thursday volunteered at the shelter Coastal Humane Society.then took a second trip to Brunswick after walking the dog to drop Haylee off after school.  We then we went out to dinner, which its been sometime since we did that.

Spring was fooled into coming early!

I worked all weekend.  My grandmother had a cardiac event in Florida on Friday, really undetermined what's going on she has really been struggling with her blood pressure this winter.  My mom lost her dog sunshine this weekend!  And then I spent the last 2 days getting chemo certified.  WEeeee looking forward to a break but I dont see much of one in the future!.
